CITIZENSHIP

United States Citizenship
Naturalization is the process of becoming a United States citizen. Any immigrant who has maintained permanent residency (green card) status for at least four years and nine months or has been married to a U.S. citizen for at least two years and nine months may apply for naturalization.
The benefits of citizenship
Naturalization provides certain benefits over permanent residency, including:
The ability to vote
Not having to worry about deportation if you violate the law
The ability to travel outside the U.S. for extended periods without jeopardizing your residency status
The ability to petition to have family members immigrate to the U.S.
You can apply for naturalization if you meet the following requirements:
You have been a lawful permanent resident for 4 years and 9 months (or 2 years and 9 months for spouses of U.S. citizens)
You are at least 18 years old
You are of good moral character
You can speak, read, and write basic English (We can help with preparation)
You can pass a basic test on U.S. history and government (We can help with preparation)
You were physically present in the U.S. at least half the requisite time
You have maintained lawful permanent residence continuously
You swear loyalty to the U.S. by taking an oath of allegiance
Depending on your specific situation, additional requirements may apply.
Our team can review your specific requirements and go over the process in detail with you to make sure that you stand on firm legal ground and minimize risk of failure.
Professional help from an immigration attorney is undoubtedly the best way to ensure that your application for U.S. citizenship is successful.
